What You’ll Do As a Neurologist Evaluate, diagnose, and manage neurological disorders within your subspecialty, including general neurological conditions (e.g., headaches, neuropathy, seizures), movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, essential tremor), autoimmune neurological conditions (e.g., multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis Optica), neuro-ophthalmic disorders (e.g., optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension), acute inpatient neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, epilepsy, encephalopathy), cognitive and behavioral disorders (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia), and neurological malignancies (e.g., brain tumors, paraneoplastic syndromes). Create individualized treatment plans for patients, adjusting them as necessary based on progress and new developments in their conditions.
